Trio of Badgers earn all-conference baseball honors
Jatniel McCloud, Brooks Carter, and Aiden White etched their name throughout the Amarillo College baseball record over the past three months.
The trio of Badger stalwarts earned well-deserved recognition by the Western Junior College Athletic Conference earlier this week. The Puerto Rican outfielder, McCloud, was named to the WJCAC first-team while lefty pitcher, White, and designated hitter, Carter, claimed second-team honors.
Former Shallowater High School standout Brooks Carter set the team record for hits in a career (143), career walks (86), and batting average in conference play (.486) during the 2026 season.
After attending Abilene Christian University his freshman year, the catcher and designated hitter immediately became an impact player.
Carter set the batting average record (.424) last year and continued his success this spring with a team-best .580 on-base percentage.
McCloud set the program record for stolen bases in a season (27) in the leadoff role.
The 6-foot-2 freshman tallied the second-highest batting average (.423) and hit total (82) since the reboot of athletics at AC in 2022. His recognition adds him to the list of all-time great AC outfielders, joining Sydney Ward (2023), Chris Benavidez (2024), Gerardo Prado (2025), and Zyon Hamilton (2025) as first or second-team WJCAC selections.
Dallas Baptist University baseball signee, White, put forth arguably the most prolific campaign by a Badger pitcher, ending his tenure at AC with five program records to his name.
The sophomore lefty set the single-season and career records in the WHIP column (1.27) and strikeouts (100). His 100-punchout mark tied Bret Deegan atop the career strikeouts list.
One stat that is just as staggering: White set the innings-pitched record (72.2) after starting game one of every series AC played in 2026.
With the trio of AC all-conference selections, the Amarillo College baseball team has had 11 first or second-team WJCAC honorees since AC’s athletics reboot.
