XC returns to Lawton on Friday for Cameron Invite II

Amarillo College’s return to the Sooner State is set for Friday morning.

The Badger cross country teams will compete in Lawton, Oklahoma for the second time this season on Sept. 26 at the Cameron University Invitational II.

Seven men’s teams and five women’s teams are signed up to run on Friday at the Big Green Soccer Complex.

The field will feature Cameron University, Redlands Community College, Southern Nazarene University, Northwestern Oklahoma State University, Ottawa University, and the University of Science & Arts of Oklahoma.

The event marks the fourth competition of the year for Sean Hargrove’s program and the second-to-last meet of the regular season.

During AC’s first race in Lawton at the Aggie Duels on Sept. 5, Lane Kenney and Adrian Rosales led the AC men to a fifth-place finish in a nine-team field. Kenney placed 11th in the 8K race with a time of 25 minutes 22 seconds.

Rosales clocked a 25:58 in his first 8K as a Badger.

Mia Lujan ran her second-fastest 5K race of her collegiate career (19:33) and placed 15th at the Aggie Duels. Elliana Rohm finished 27th in a time of 20:03.

Lujan and Rohm led the Badgers to a sixth-place finish in a 10-team field.
